How to download your Chime statements

The fastest way to get the monthly PDF statements from Chime that you need for a profit & loss statement: the official PDFs, with the printed balances that let every figure reconcile.

THE SHORT VERSION
  • Chime is app-first: statements live under Settings in a Documents or Statements section, and the app is the most reliable route.
  • Checking, savings, and Credit Builder each issue a separate monthly statement; pull every account you use.
  • Statements are typically available back to account opening, with older months sometimes requiring a support request.
  • Download the monthly statement PDF, not a transaction export; only the statement prints the beginning and ending balances reconciliation needs.

Where Chime keeps your statements

Settings → Documents (or Statements)

Statements are easiest to download on a desktop browser rather than the mobile app. If the exact wording differs from the steps below, look for “Statements” or “Statements & Documents”; banks tuck it under the account or a top-level menu.

Step by step

  1. 01Chime is app-first, so the app is the surest path, but you can also sign in at chime.com in a desktop browser.
  2. 02Open the menu (usually via your profile or the gear icon) and look for “Documents,” “Statements,” or “Statements & documents.”
  3. 03Pick the account: the checking (spending) account, the savings account, and the Credit Builder card each issue separate statements.
  4. 04Choose the month; the statement opens as a PDF.
  5. 05Save the PDF, then repeat for each month and each account.
Download the PDF, not a screenshot or a spreadsheet export. RapidPnL reads the official statement PDF because it carries the beginning and ending balances. That's what lets us prove your P&L reconciles to the penny. Chime is a fintech (banking services provided by partner banks), and it is built app-first. The checking account, savings account, and Credit Builder card each produce their own statement; download all three sets so transfers and card payments match up instead of double-counting.

From the mobile app

The desktop site is the reliable route, but if you only have your phone, most months are reachable from the app too. Menu placement changes more often on mobile, so treat these as the general path rather than exact taps.

  1. 01Open the Chime app and sign in.
  2. 02Tap your profile or the gear icon, then look for “Documents” or “Statements.”
  3. 03Select the account and the month, then save or share the PDF to yourself.
  4. 04If a month you need isn't listed, chime.com in a desktop browser or a message to Chime support can produce it.

How far back can you go?

Chime typically keeps monthly statements available in the app going back to when the account opened, though very old months may need a support request. If you need older statements than appear online, contact the bank to request them.

Turn those statements into a P&L

Upload the PDFs and get a management-use profit & loss in minutes, with every statement reconciled to the penny. $49 for 3 months, then $9 each additional month. Full refund if we can't reconcile.

The free statement is read, categorized, and reconciled on screen before you pay anything. One per person; no card required.

What the statement PDF contains, and why it matters

A monthly statement is more than a list of transactions. It prints three things a raw export never does: the beginning balance, the ending balance, and the totals for the cycle. Those printed balances are what make the document verifiable. RapidPnL adds the beginning balance to every transaction on the statement and checks that the result equals the printed ending balance, to the penny. If the math holds, you know nothing was missed, misread, or counted twice. If it doesn't, the statement is flagged and reviewed rather than quietly delivered with broken numbers. No AI-generated figure ever lands on the P&L; the AI only reads and categorizes, and deterministic code does all of the arithmetic.

This is exactly why transaction exports and screenshots fall short. A CSV export is a bare list with no printed balances, so there is nothing independent to check it against; a missing week or a duplicated day would pass unnoticed. Screenshots and photos are worse: they capture part of a page, at whatever quality your screen and camera allow, with no totals at all. The official monthly statement PDF is the one document your bank has already committed to, balances included, which is why it's the required input.

Format matters too. Statements downloaded from your bank's website are text-based PDFs: the characters are real text that software can read precisely. A scanned paper statement is a picture of text, and pictures introduce read errors that no reconciliation gate can fully repair. If all you have is paper, it's almost always faster to download the digital original from online banking than to scan. Each PDF can be up to 10 MB, which comfortably fits even long business statements.

Finally, gather everything in one pass. If the business runs through a checking account, a savings account, and a credit card, download all of them for every month in your period. RapidPnL matches card payments between the bank and card statements so the payment isn't counted once as a bank withdrawal and again as card spending, and transfers between your own accounts are excluded from income and expenses entirely. One complete set of PDFs, uploaded together, produces one clean P&L; a partial set leaves gaps you would otherwise have to explain to a lender.

If something goes wrong

The problems below cover most of what goes sideways when downloading statements from Chime, with the quickest way out of each.

You can't find a statements section

It sits under your profile or settings menu, not on the account tiles. Look for “Documents,” “Statements,” or “Statements & documents.” If your app version hides it, update the app or sign in at chime.com instead.

The savings or Credit Builder months are missing

Each Chime account files its own statements. Switch the account selector inside the documents area; the month you want is usually filed under a different account than the one you're viewing.

You saved a screenshot or image instead of the PDF

A screenshot of the transaction feed can't be reconciled. Go back to the statements list and download the dated monthly statement PDF itself, which carries the printed balances.

A month seems to be missing entirely

New accounts have no statement until the first cycle closes, and the newest month posts a few days after the cycle ends. For months older than what the app lists, ask Chime support for copies.

The account is closed

App access usually ends with the account, so download everything before closing if you can. Otherwise contact Chime support and request statement copies for the months you need.

Common questions

How many months of Chime statements should I download?

For a profit & loss statement, download every month in the period you want to cover; most business loans ask for 3, 6, or 12 months. RapidPnL covers 3 statement-months for $49, then $9 per additional month.

Should I download a PDF or export transactions to Excel/CSV?

Download the monthly statement PDF. A transaction export usually lacks the beginning and ending balances that let RapidPnL prove every statement reconciles to the penny. The official PDF has them.

How far back do Chime statements go online?

Chime typically keeps monthly statements available in the app going back to when the account opened, though very old months may need a support request.

Do credit card statements work too?

Yes. Upload your business checking and any business credit card statements together. RapidPnL matches card payments to your bank so nothing gets double-counted.

What happens if a statement doesn't reconcile?

Every statement is checked: beginning balance plus every transaction must equal the printed ending balance. Anything that doesn't reconcile is flagged and reviewed instead of being delivered silently, and if your statements can't be reconciled at all, you get a full refund.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. One statement of up to 15 pages runs free (an account is required) and the result appears on screen. There is also an interactive demo built on fictional data if you'd rather look around first.
