THE SHORT VERSION
  • Find “Statements” or “eStatements” in the main menu of Online Banking, then filter by account and month.
  • At least a couple of years of eStatements are typically available online.
  • Download the monthly statement PDF, not a transaction export; the export carries no printed balances to reconcile against.
  • Checking and savings often appear together on one combined member statement; upload it once and it covers both.
  • BECU credit card statements are their own documents; pull those months separately.

Where BECU keeps your statements

Statements / eStatements (main menu)

Statements are easiest to download on a desktop browser rather than the mobile app. If the exact wording differs from the steps below, look for “Statements” or “Statements & Documents”; banks tuck it under the account or a top-level menu.

Step by step

  1. 01Sign in at becu.org (Online Banking) on a desktop browser.
  2. 02Open “Statements” or “eStatements” from the main menu; some views file it under “Documents.”
  3. 03Pick the account and the statement month.
  4. 04Open the statement; it displays as a PDF.
  5. 05Download and save it, then repeat for each month and each account.
Download the PDF, not a screenshot or a spreadsheet export. RapidPnL reads the official statement PDF because it carries the beginning and ending balances. That's what lets us prove your P&L reconciles to the penny. BECU issues a combined member statement: checking and savings commonly share one PDF. Credit card statements are separate. If you see no PDFs, you likely need to switch the account to eStatements first.

From the mobile app

The desktop site is the reliable route, but if you only have your phone, most months are reachable from the app too. Menu placement changes more often on mobile, so treat these as the general path rather than exact taps.

  1. 01Open the BECU mobile app and sign in.
  2. 02Look for statements or documents in the main menu.
  3. 03Pick the account and month, then save or share the PDF.
  4. 04If the app doesn't offer a month, becu.org in a desktop browser will once eStatements are on.

How far back can you go?

BECU typically keeps at least a couple of years of eStatements online; older months may require a request. If you need older statements than appear online, contact the bank to request them.

Turn those statements into a P&L

Upload the PDFs and get a management-use profit & loss in minutes, with every statement reconciled to the penny. $49 for 3 months, then $9 each additional month. Full refund if we can't reconcile.

The free statement is read, categorized, and reconciled on screen before you pay anything. One per person; no card required.

What the statement PDF contains, and why it matters

A monthly statement is more than a list of transactions. It prints three things a raw export never does: the beginning balance, the ending balance, and the totals for the cycle. Those printed balances are what make the document verifiable. RapidPnL adds the beginning balance to every transaction on the statement and checks that the result equals the printed ending balance, to the penny. If the math holds, you know nothing was missed, misread, or counted twice. If it doesn't, the statement is flagged and reviewed rather than quietly delivered with broken numbers. No AI-generated figure ever lands on the P&L; the AI only reads and categorizes, and deterministic code does all of the arithmetic.

This is exactly why transaction exports and screenshots fall short. A CSV export is a bare list with no printed balances, so there is nothing independent to check it against; a missing week or a duplicated day would pass unnoticed. Screenshots and photos are worse: they capture part of a page, at whatever quality your screen and camera allow, with no totals at all. The official monthly statement PDF is the one document your bank has already committed to, balances included, which is why it's the required input.

Format matters too. Statements downloaded from your bank's website are text-based PDFs: the characters are real text that software can read precisely. A scanned paper statement is a picture of text, and pictures introduce read errors that no reconciliation gate can fully repair. If all you have is paper, it's almost always faster to download the digital original from online banking than to scan. Each PDF can be up to 10 MB, which comfortably fits even long business statements.

Finally, gather everything in one pass. If the business runs through a checking account, a savings account, and a credit card, download all of them for every month in your period. RapidPnL matches card payments between the bank and card statements so the payment isn't counted once as a bank withdrawal and again as card spending, and transfers between your own accounts are excluded from income and expenses entirely. One complete set of PDFs, uploaded together, produces one clean P&L; a partial set leaves gaps you would otherwise have to explain to a lender.

If something goes wrong

The problems below cover most of what goes sideways when downloading statements from BECU, with the quickest way out of each.

The Statements area is empty

Monthly PDFs generally appear only after you enroll in eStatements. Turn on electronic delivery for the account, then check back; the archive builds from your enrolled cycles forward.

You downloaded a CSV or print view instead

Activity exports and printed web pages lack the statement's beginning and ending balances, so they can't be reconciled. Go back to the eStatements list and open the dated monthly PDF.

A month seems to be missing

Combined member statements are filed once per cycle, not once per account, so the month may sit under a different account selection. New accounts also have no statement until the first cycle closes.

The account is closed

Online access doesn't last forever after closure. If you can still sign in, download everything now; otherwise contact BECU and request copies for the months you need.

Common questions

How many months of BECU statements should I download?

For a profit & loss statement, download every month in the period you want to cover; most business loans ask for 3, 6, or 12 months. RapidPnL covers 3 statement-months for $49, then $9 per additional month.

Should I download a PDF or export transactions to Excel/CSV?

Download the monthly statement PDF. A transaction export usually lacks the beginning and ending balances that let RapidPnL prove every statement reconciles to the penny. The official PDF has them.

How far back do BECU statements go online?

BECU typically keeps at least a couple of years of eStatements online; older months may require a request.

Do credit card statements work too?

Yes. Upload your business checking and any business credit card statements together. RapidPnL matches card payments to your bank so nothing gets double-counted.

What happens if a statement doesn't reconcile?

Every statement is checked: beginning balance plus every transaction must equal the printed ending balance. Anything that doesn't reconcile is flagged and reviewed instead of being delivered silently, and if your statements can't be reconciled at all, you get a full refund.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. One statement of up to 15 pages runs free (an account is required) and the result appears on screen. There is also an interactive demo built on fictional data if you'd rather look around first.
