How to download your Novo statements

The fastest way to get the monthly PDF statements from Novo that you need for a profit & loss statement: the official PDFs, with the printed balances that let every figure reconcile.

UPDATED JULY 2026 · WRITTEN BY A LICENSED CPA · RAPIDPNL
THE SHORT VERSION
  • Statements live in the app and the web dashboard under a Statements or documents area; the app is the primary interface.
  • Novo produces one PDF per closed monthly cycle and typically keeps the full history available; support can retrieve anything missing.
  • Download the monthly statement PDF, not a transactions CSV. The CSV has no printed beginning and ending balances, so it can't be reconciled.
  • Statements are electronic only. The dashboard PDF is the official monthly statement.
  • A brand-new account has no statement until its first cycle closes.

Where Novo keeps your statements

App or web dashboard → Statements / Documents

Statements are easiest to download on a desktop browser rather than the mobile app. If the exact wording differs from the steps below, look for “Statements” or “Statements & Documents”; banks tuck it under the account or a top-level menu.

Step by step

  1. 01Novo is app-first, but the web dashboard works too: sign in at novo.co on a desktop browser.
  2. 02Open the menu and look for “Statements” or a documents section.
  3. 03Choose the statement month; each closed cycle is its own PDF.
  4. 04Download the PDF and save it.
  5. 05Repeat for every month you want in your P&L.
Download the PDF, not a screenshot or a spreadsheet export. RapidPnL reads the official statement PDF because it carries the beginning and ending balances. That's what lets us prove your P&L reconciles to the penny. Novo issues statements only in electronic form. There is no paper statement to wait for; the PDF in the dashboard is the official document.

From the mobile app

The desktop site is the reliable route, but if you only have your phone, most months are reachable from the app too. Menu placement changes more often on mobile, so treat these as the general path rather than exact taps.

  1. 01Open the Novo app and sign in. For most Novo customers the app is the main way in.
  2. 02Go to the menu or profile area and find “Statements.”
  3. 03Tap the month you need; the PDF opens in a viewer.
  4. 04Save it to Files or share it to yourself. The web dashboard at novo.co offers the same PDFs if the app gives you trouble.

How far back can you go?

Novo generates a statement each month and typically keeps them available for the life of the account; contact support for anything you can't see. If you need older statements than appear online, contact the bank to request them.

Turn those statements into a P&L

Upload the PDFs and get a management-use profit & loss in minutes, with every statement reconciled to the penny. $49 for 3 months, then $9 each additional month. Full refund if we can't reconcile.

The free statement is read, categorized, and reconciled on screen before you pay anything. One per person; no card required.

What the statement PDF contains, and why it matters

A monthly statement is more than a list of transactions. It prints three things a raw export never does: the beginning balance, the ending balance, and the totals for the cycle. Those printed balances are what make the document verifiable. RapidPnL adds the beginning balance to every transaction on the statement and checks that the result equals the printed ending balance, to the penny. If the math holds, you know nothing was missed, misread, or counted twice. If it doesn't, the statement is flagged and reviewed rather than quietly delivered with broken numbers. No AI-generated figure ever lands on the P&L; the AI only reads and categorizes, and deterministic code does all of the arithmetic.

This is exactly why transaction exports and screenshots fall short. A CSV export is a bare list with no printed balances, so there is nothing independent to check it against; a missing week or a duplicated day would pass unnoticed. Screenshots and photos are worse: they capture part of a page, at whatever quality your screen and camera allow, with no totals at all. The official monthly statement PDF is the one document your bank has already committed to, balances included, which is why it's the required input.

Format matters too. Statements downloaded from your bank's website are text-based PDFs: the characters are real text that software can read precisely. A scanned paper statement is a picture of text, and pictures introduce read errors that no reconciliation gate can fully repair. If all you have is paper, it's almost always faster to download the digital original from online banking than to scan. Each PDF can be up to 10 MB, which comfortably fits even long business statements.

Finally, gather everything in one pass. If the business runs through a checking account, a savings account, and a credit card, download all of them for every month in your period. RapidPnL matches card payments between the bank and card statements so the payment isn't counted once as a bank withdrawal and again as card spending, and transfers between your own accounts are excluded from income and expenses entirely. One complete set of PDFs, uploaded together, produces one clean P&L; a partial set leaves gaps you would otherwise have to explain to a lender.

If something goes wrong

The problems below cover most of what goes sideways when downloading statements from Novo, with the quickest way out of each.

You can't see a statements area anywhere

Check the profile or settings menu rather than the transaction feed; Novo keeps statements with account documents, not activity. If it's truly absent, update the app or use the web dashboard.

You saved a CSV of transactions

Novo's export is built for spreadsheets and skips the printed balances entirely. Go back for the monthly statement PDF; that is the only file whose math can be checked.

The current month has no statement

Novo, like most fintechs, generates the PDF only after the cycle closes, usually within a few days of month-end. There is no way to produce a partial-month statement early.

The account was closed

Dashboard access winds down after closure. If you can still sign in, pull every month now; otherwise email Novo support and ask for statement copies for the specific months.

Common questions

How many months of Novo statements should I download?

For a profit & loss statement, download every month in the period you want to cover; most business loans ask for 3, 6, or 12 months. RapidPnL covers 3 statement-months for $49, then $9 per additional month.

Should I download a PDF or export transactions to Excel/CSV?

Download the monthly statement PDF. A transaction export usually lacks the beginning and ending balances that let RapidPnL prove every statement reconciles to the penny. The official PDF has them.

How far back do Novo statements go online?

Novo generates a statement each month and typically keeps them available for the life of the account; contact support for anything you can't see.

Do credit card statements work too?

Yes. Upload your business checking and any business credit card statements together. RapidPnL matches card payments to your bank so nothing gets double-counted.

What happens if a statement doesn't reconcile?

Every statement is checked: beginning balance plus every transaction must equal the printed ending balance. Anything that doesn't reconcile is flagged and reviewed instead of being delivered silently, and if your statements can't be reconciled at all, you get a full refund.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. One statement of up to 15 pages runs free (an account is required) and the result appears on screen. There is also an interactive demo built on fictional data if you'd rather look around first.
